Weber emigrated to the United States in 1891, while still a young child. Weber lived in Brooklyn with his family, where he has the opportunity to study art and meet influential mentors. In 1905, Weber travelled to France, where he became acquainted with the leading Cubist and Modernist painters.

A few years later, Weber returned to New York, bringing with him new and innovative practices. While Weber is best known for his Cubist paintings, he published a large number of Cubist poems with woodcut illustrations. Weber’s series, known as the Primitives: Poems and Woodcuts, was first published in 1926. First edition copies are the most rare and valuable. Later editions still hold collector value.
